Historical and cross-cultural perspectives, critical theory, and interdisciplinary approaches are employed to examine questions of gender difference, inequality, and exclusion. In keeping with the philosophy of liberal arts education, the goal of gender studies is to better understand and ultimately transform our lives and the world in which we live.
